First-ever Toyota Camry TRD and Avalon TRD - Wondries Toyota - Alhambra, CA

For 40 years, Toyota Racing Development set the standard for performance on the track and excitement on the road, and it’s still finding new ways to raise the bar. For 2020, the TRD badge will adorn sedans for the first time in history thanks to the first-ever Toyota Camry TRD and Avalon TRD. With mighty V6 performance, TRD tuning, and ample athletic styling, the Toyota Camry TRD and Avalon TRD look to thrill Toyota fans everywhere at the start of a new decade.

“One of the keys to the success in every TRD edition vehicle is the commitment to authentic performance improvement, not just styling,” said Dave Wilson, president of TRD USA. “If you see a TRD-badged car or truck, you can be assured it is not just a decal package. There is a tangible performance improvement — suspension, exhaust, intake tuning, etc.”

TRD Upgrades

That improvement is quite tangible with the new Toyota Camry TRD and Avalon TRD, both of which boast a 301-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission with sport mode and paddle shifters. But it’s about more than just might with TRD: Both get key TRD upgrades like a cat-back dual exhaust, lower coil springs, stiffer stabilizer bars, and powerful shock absorbers. The Camry TRD gets Bridgestone Potenza 235/40R19 summer tires for superior acceleration and handling, and both receive lighter 19-inch matte-black alloy wheels and larger 12.9-inch diameter brake rotors and dual-piston calipers.

Exterior Style

Both the 2020 Toyota Camry TRD and Avalon TRD see key aesthetic upgrades to set them apart, including red pinstriping, red-painted brake calipers, and red TRD badging as well as aerodynamic body components. To up the sporty look, the Camry TRD will also offer a contrast Midnight Black Metallic Roof for its Supersonic Red, Windchill Pearl, and Celestial Silver color schemes.
