While there aren’t many changes happening with the Tundra going into 2015 model year, there is one big one – Toyota is dropping the V6 powertrain options for the 2015 Tundra.
Although the V6 powertrain options offered a large amount of power, they just couldn’t compete with the V8 engine options. According to a Toyota spokesperson, “The Tundra V6 take rate was significantly less than five percent.” Both of the V8 engine options—a 4.6-liter engine that churns out 310 horsepower and a 5.7-liter that generates 381 hp—will still remain, providing those who purchase the Tundra with plenty of muscle.
To go along with the powertrain changes, the 2015 Tundra will also offer an optional integrated trailer brake, a new rear under-seat storage system, and a spray-in bed liner.
