When it comes to taking care of its community, Toyota knows how to do it. On April 28, a devastating tornado ripped through Northeast Mississippi flattening communities. Since then, Toyota Mississippi has stepped in to support disaster relief in Mississippi.
In the nearly two months since the tornado struck, Toyota, its employees, and its suppliers have donated a combined $58,000 to the Northeast Mississippi Chapter of the American Red Cross. In addition, Toyota and supplier team members have volunteered their personal time to help clear debris—altogether a total of 1,445 hours.
“We are very proud of our team members for their outpouring of support and generosity following the tornado this spring,” said Sean Suggs, vice president at Toyota Mississippi, in a press release. “Our team members genuinely care about the welfare of others, and I am humbled to work beside each of them.”
Even though we at Wondries Toyota are not in Mississippi, we are proud to share the Toyota name with such a generous group of people.
