Toyota’s 9th annual Dream Car Art Contest is underway and looking to continue the tradition of inspiring creativity and interest in the automobile industry among young people. The U.S. portion of this contest, which is administered by Toyota Financial Service, runs through December 13 and invites young people, ages 4-15, from across the nation to create and submit a drawing of their dream car. After the U.S. entries are submitted and judged, nine winners will be selected. These winners, along with the winners from approximately 80 other countries, will be considered for the World Contest. Thirty world winners are selected and receive a trip to Japan for an awards ceremony. Four additional awards, Gold, Silver, Bronze and Best Finalist, are announced at this ceremony.
The first international contest was held in 2004 with two goals of inspiring children to understand the importance of having a dream while encouraging them to become interested in cars. As Mike Groff, President and CEO of Toyota Financial Services said, “Every year, it’s exciting to see how the Toyota Dream Car Art Contest inspires youth from around the world to design their vision for the future of transportation, and it’s inspiring to see so many also consider how technology can help address larger societal issues facing their generation.”
