With innovations emerging every day in the auto world, cars are taking on more miles than ever, but no car out there has made it as far as the million-mile Toyota Tundra.
Victor Sheppard, possibly the most loyal Toyota customer known to mankind, has driven his 2007 Toyota Tundra to the 999,999 mark, at which point the odometer hit its limit. Sheppard has since driven it over one million miles, even though it doesn’t show on the dashboard.
His Tundra was assembled exclusively at Toyota Motor Manufacturing in Texas, which makes many of the vehicles you can find here at Wondries Toyota. Sheppard has been driving the truck an average 125,000 miles per year since he purchased the truck while travelling for his job. The Tundra still has its original engine, transmission, and even its original paint job.
“Most people can’t believe how much on his truck is original,” said Ron Weimer, general manager of Leblanc Toyota. “Victor has been loyal to his maintenance and kept it up.”
Sheppard’s dedication to preserving his truck shows just how far careful and routine maintenance can get you! Not only that, but it shows the true quality of Toyota’s engine and transmission.
To award his dedication, Toyota awarded Sheppard with an all-new 2016 Tundra. Toyota’s chief truck engineer, Mike Sweers, plans to take apart the million-mile Tundra and carefully analyze its construction to assure the same quality in the future.
