The new Toyota Prius Prime awards are adding up, including the recent KBB Best Buy Award. This prestigious accolade is given to the best cars in each category, and the Prius Prime took the much coveted Electric/Hybrid segment. Toyota is known for its eco-friendly engineering, yet the brand was nonetheless thrilled to receive recognition for the 2017 Prius Prime.
KBB judges looked at more than 300 new cars, selecting only the best in 12 major categories. The Prius Prime won for a number of reasons, including the fact that it gets up to 640 miles of range when fully charged—a new world record. The model has up to 25 miles of pure-electric range, as well as up to 133 MPGe when using the hybrid system.
“When we set out to build the 2017 Prius Prime, we wanted to deliver a car that would live up to the idea of the word ‘Prime,’ – a plug-in hybrid vehicle with no compromises. With the new Prius Prime, Toyota has delivered the most efficient car in America and we are thrilled to receive the Electric/Hybrid Best Buy Award from Kelley Blue Book,” said Nathan Kokes, advanced technology vehicle manager at Toyota.
The Prius Prime also comes with a number of innovations, including an 11.6-inch HD multimedia display for those looking for the best in infotainment. The Prime also has a state-of-the-art engine and electric motor system, a high-capacity battery, and updated software. No one tops Toyota, especially when it comes to green vehicles.
