27In many parts of the country, fall signifies a sudden drop in temperature and foreshadows the bitter winter to come. Here in California, our fall and winter seasons are much milder, but this transition time is still a good time to take care of some routine car maintenance. Here are some fall-time maintenance tips to keep in mind.
Change your oil and air filter
You should get your oil changed (we’re happy to help at Wondries) every 3,000 to 6,000 miles. Depending on how much you drive, the changing of the seasons can be a quarterly reminder to get this done. You’ll also want to replace your air filter regularly; now is a good time.
Check your heater/defroster
You won’t need to use your heater too often here in California, but if you intend to travel to northern regions, you’ll want to make sure your heater and defroster are running correctly.
Test your battery
Now is a good time to test your battery, especially if you plan to travel during the colder months.
Replace your wiper blades
After spring and summer pass, it’s likely time for new wiper blades.
Check your lights
It’s going to start getting darker earlier in the day. Make sure all lights—headlights, taillights, signals, etc.—are still burning brightly by replacing any that have fizzled out.
Safe travels this fall from Wondries Toyota!
